Fashion Under £40: The ASOS Edit
Anyone else get well grumpy when clothes are just too damn expensive? Well, me too so rather than live under the illusion that, one day, I’ll save up for that designer pieces, I’m acknowledging my love of affordable fashion and pulling together an edit from top online/high street retailers as we go. This week, it’s the turn of ASOS. I’m no stylist -there’s no rhyme or reason or cohesive theme to this, other than the fact that every piece is under £40. All the images are hyperlinked so they should take you right there.
The White Jean
Don’t know about you, but a skinny or a slim leg white jean are not longer on my list of things that make me feel good. BUT, this wide leg ankle grazer ticks all my boxes for summer // £40
The Everyday Jean
The Mum Jean is a bit ‘gunty’ for me; the skinny jean is a bit over and the wide leg isn’t an ‘everyday’ choice. This slim leg, not too high rise jean looks like a perfect option to me // £28
The 'Floral' Dress
When life gives you lemons…put them on a dress and kick ass. This feels like a sassier version of the floral dress and I love the elasticated waistband…room for all those summer ice creams // £38
The Pleated Skirt
I’m in love with the colour way on this animal print pleated skirt. The pleated skirt is my uniform for summer: pair with a tee and cons/trainers for casual awesomeness // £25.99
The Sundress
The only thing that annoys me about this is that it starts in a size 16 but if you are fully fabulous then this sundress is such a winner // £30
The Birkenstock (No Socks)
These rubber versions of the Birkenstock classic are comfy and cool. I love the coral colour but you can also snap them up in lilac and pink // £30
The Oversized Shirt
This oversized shirt will keep you cool but I reckon you can dress this up or down. The colour way is all about summer but in winter throw a knit over it and it’ll add some interest around the collar and the cuffs // £28
The Better Breton
Spice up the classic with this primary colour-based option. So much more interesting than the usual navy/white option and it’s a bargain // £16
The Colour Pop Sweater
I can’t resist pink and this hot pink, light weight knit is the perfect way to combat the ever changing British summer // £32
The Throw It On Dress
This ditzy, pretty floral is the perfect throw on for when it does get warm. Cool, loose but perfectly poised it’ll be your go to piece when the sun finally comes out // £19.99
The Leather Look
These culottes are not only a MEGA bargain but they are also super cool. I LOVE my leather trousers but these elastic-waisted, wide leg wonders are top of my list for my sale shopping and they’ll take me right through the winter // £13.50
The In-between Trench
This wool-look trench is super light and will be perfect to keep off the summer chills. I love the classic grey keeping it just the right side of casual // £22.50

The Dress Up Tux
Throw this on with any jeans or skirt and you’ll be red carpet ready. Love a piece that transforms any outfit and does exactly what it says on the tin // £24
Summer Skirt Love
This cheesecloth/linen skirt is such a great option for the summer. The button details make it more interesting and it’s super cool for hot weather. I wear everything with trainers but a gorgeous sandal would also rock this // £22
The Siren Trouser
I’m an ankle-grazing girl through and through and these bright red pleated pants will look great at work or play // £15.00
