True Crime Podcasts
I have recently been binge listening to True Crime podcasts and every time I mention it on social media, you all ask me what I’m listening to. So, I thought I’d list my favourites here and you guys could add in any I missed, or haven’t even heard of to the comments below and we can gather enough gory material to keep our obsession with the dark side of life fully satisfied!
My Favourite Murder - if you like true crime and you’re not already a fully fledged ‘murderino’ then you need to get onto this asap. Wickedly funny and super interesting chat from Georgia Hardstarck and Karen Killgarrif.
Serial - the first true crime podcast I ever listened to and one of the best. Season 1 is outstanding. I didn't quite get into season 2 as much but that could just be me!
West Cork - Beautifully written and constructed true crime podcast about the murder of French woman Sophie Toscan du Plantier. Constant twists and turns and I binged it in about two days.
Your Own Back Yard - Again a beautifully edited podcast detailing the case surrounding the disappearance of Kristin Smart.
To Live & Die in LA - This podcast works through the disappearance and death of aspiring actress Adea Shabani from Albania.
Broken Harts - a really sad podcast investigating what led to the murder-suicide of the Hart family - the adoptive parents Sarah & Jennifer Hart adopted 6 children and were considered the perfect blended family until the drove their car off a cliff with everyone in it.
Killing on the Cape - a podcast that investigates the death of Christa Worthington and whether the man who was arrested was actually the murderer.
The Lady Vanishes - the remarkable story of an Australian woman, 51, who left to go for a year’s trip to the UK and was never seen again. A long podcasts with lots of real life developments but could perhaps have been edited in a more succinct way. Still really engaging though.
Shreds - this is an outstanding podcast that dissects the story of young woman found dead in a flat in Cardiff on Valentines day. Tells the story of the ‘Cardiff Five’ - one of the most notorious miscarriages of justice in British legal history.
S Town - I’ve left this one till last because I haven’t actually had a chance to listen but so many of you have recommended it that I couldn’t leave it out!
Now it’s your turn…
